Thoughts and memories. Thoughts on memories. Paraphrasing and re-paraphrasing. over and over and over and over and over and over, did it lose it meaning? Did it derive away from what it was at its inception?
Words were made to convey our thoughts, one word had more than one synonym, one phrase can be told in many different ways. can they all explain what the feeling was when the memory was created? I find myself with many words, yet so little to describe. Explain: describe. Clarify. Unfold. Clear up. Simplify. Interpret. Translate. Unravel. Untangle. Resolve. This work was created by taking a single memory and paraphrasing it using multiple online paraphrasing tools, until the original thought and memory was lost and the text created didn’t have anything to do with the original. Raising up questions of language and the usage of words. The first iteration of the work was created using sound recording of myself reciting the text and burying the speaker underneath the sand, which created vibrations on the sand to create its own image, afterwords, the text was written using sand, an ever changing ephemeral installation that is up to the viewer to decipher.
